Back from Asia, Back to Blogging!

Dear Rules & Modern Geisha Fans,

I am back from Asia and back to blogging again with delicious stories from my adventures with tons of photos and videos to share.  I have much to say on what I observed about men, women, dating, relationships, Eastern philosophy and the pursuit of love and happiness.  I also have some interesting new perspectives and applications to The Rules when it comes to your Mom and interacting with strange, new people in strange, new places. It has taken me some to readjust from the half day in time difference and to get back into the regular rhythm of blogging again.  But I came home having to catch up with several clients who were anxiously awaiting my return for their consultations after a month-long absence and of course, a cute husband who missed me very much!

First of all, this trip Vietnam was an opportunity to take a mother-daughter bonding trip to visit the birthplace of my parents, my ancestors, my culture and tradition. I visited the homes of family members such as uncles, aunts, cousins and distant relatives who I have never met before.  Along with family visits, our trip was a series of  hurried shopping and sight-seeing excursions. Traveling with my Mom was like traveling with bandits!  But at least I still able to enjoy the stunning and raw natural beauty of the country and be able to connect with the beauty of my culture.

My favorite place was the charming city of Hanoi, where I felt very much at home.  Just by having conversation with the locals, I got to experience first-hand why Hanoi girls  are simply charming, irresistible and “maddeningly addicting.” (The Modern Geisha’s claim to fame.)

I was so lucky to have a friend of mine named Raymond from San Antonio tell me about the Bangkok Salsa Congress.  It just so happened to coincide with my trip to Vietnam, so immediately upon arriving in Saigon on a Friday, I flew out the very next day to Bangkok for the salsa congress that weekend. Even though I was a bit tired from the flight, when I heard the music, I couldn’t resist dancing! I had a wonderful time in Bangkok making new salsa friends, salsa dancing, shopping, eating delicious Thai food and getting pampered with a 3 hour Thai massage!

The other reason for the trip was to authenticate my long-awaited Modern Geisha philosophy and doctrine. I have a following of women from all over who excited about the release of the Modern Geisha summary statement, which would define and instruct women on “How to Be a Modern Geisha.”  Because of its roots are deeply based on Asian philosophy, I wanted to experience it and authenticate it on Asian soil.

During a long layover in Japan, I splurged on some cherry-blossom themed souvenirs and went nuts over Hello Kitty Geishas.  I will never be too old for Hello Kitty.
